Easy Step-by-step Instructions
|
- Each pattern has a top and bottom section. Pick up the top section with the design facing down.
- Lift the handle and load the top section into the square cavity in the orientation you desire. Note which letter, A through D, the arrow is pointing to.
- Lower the handle. Turn the WonderPress® over with the rubber feet facing up. Slide the drawer back toward you until it stops.
- Load the bottom section into the square cavity with the design facing away from you. Make sure the arrow points to the same letter as on the top section.
IMPORTANT: Always load the top and bottom sections so the arrow points to the same letter. Doing otherwise may cause damage to your patterns.
- Slide the drawer back to the front until it clicks. Turn the WonderPress® back over.
- With pattern properly loaded in the WonderPress®, insert paper into the slit. Use the WonderPress® only on paper that is no thicker than cardstock.
- Align your paper so that the area you want to punch or emboss is directly under the top insert. Use the ruler marks on the sides as a guide.
- When punching, gently squeeze the handle with your thumb. When embossing, put the WonderPress® on the table and press down firmly on the handle.
- Remove the paper from the slit and presto! You have a cut-out or raised pattern on your paper!

Important: You must follow these instructions before using your WonderPress®
|
|
Punch patterns must be worn in before punching paper.
Take the time now and do this for each new pattern and you will be much happier with the ease of use and the results.
The amount of wearing in required will vary from punch to punch.
- Load the new pattern in the WonderPress® and place the WonderPress® on a table.
Keep the Wonderpress® on the table during this wearing in exercise.
- Press the handle up and down several times without any paper in the slit.
- If the top pattern catches and does not go through,
put a little pressure on the angled part of the purple handle with your free hand and try "punching"
again. Vary the pressure on the angled surface until the punch goes through.
Now, repeatedly press the handle up and down while slowly releasing the pressure you are
applying with your other hand. At some point you may hear it go "clunk" each time as it barely goes
through. This is part of the wearing in process. Keep releasing the pressure until the punch goes through
without any pressure on the angled surface.
- Once the top pattern is going through smoothly without paper,
punch through wax paper several times.
- Next punch through text-weight paper several times.
- Once it's punching easily through text-weight paper, punch through cardstock several times.
- Repeat all of the above steps for each of the 4 orientations.
- After you wear-in the pattern, you can pick up the WonderPress® and use it as a handheld tool
as well as a desktop tool. Remember to do these steps for each new pattern!

Tips and Recommendations For Using Your WonderPress®
|
- LUBRICATING YOUR WONDERPRESS®. Your WonderPress® will work best if it is well lubricated.
Periodically apply mineral oil to the four silver areas inside the top and bottom square cavities.
- EMBOSSING. To get crisper and more even emboss images, place the WonderPress® on a solid surface,
and put one palm on the angled part of the handle, and the other palm on the flat part of the handle.
Then press down firmly with both hands at the same time. You may also get better results with the pattern loaded in different orientations.
(See illustration further down this page.)
- PUNCHING CARDSTOCK. When punching heavier paper such as cardstock, it helps to place the WonderPress®
on a flat surface, and to press on the angled part of the handle while punching.
- SWITCHING A PATTERN. The key to switching a pattern is to be gentle, keeping the pattern straight and level.
If it doesn't drop in smoothly, do not force it in. Remove it and try again.
- STORING PUNCH PATTERNS. To protect your pattern edges, store your patterns in the protective container they came in or in the Carrying Case.
Store punch patterns with the top and bottom halves joined together.
(Hint: When put together properly, the A-B-C-D orientation letters should be visible on both sides.)
Be gentle and use care; do not force the two halves together or apart.
